Entertainment & Brand Photography Internship
September – December 2018

Job Summary

Intern will report directly to the Tap Room & Events Manager and will work closely with Entertainment Manager to shoot photos for print and web marketing. As a photographer for Ore Dock Brewing Company, intern will curate a branded portfolio of entertainment photography, shooting live bands and on-site events, as well as in studio and on location product photography. This position is meant for an individual with a passion for event and product photography who has the ability to work independently under deadline. Entry level experience in product and/or event photography preferred. Intern needs to be a creative thinker, able to shoot in a variety of conditions and must supply their own editing and lighting equipment. Intern must be able to work well with a team and show professionalism when working on site with staff, guests and performers. The internship is for-credit only (with the opportunity for paid assignments). Must currently be enrolled in Bachelor’s degree photography or related field. Video experience a plus.

Key Responsibilities (but are not limited to):

  • Photograph live music and events, as assigned
  • Photograph draft and bottled brands in-studio and on location
  • Photograph merchandise in-studio and on location
  • Photograph interior and exterior of business
  • Provide edited imagery for use on print and digital marketing

Job Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in photography or related field. Video experience a plus.
  • Access to a camera, lighting/studio equipment and editing software.
  • Familiarity with Photoshop and Light Room required.
  • Weekend and evening work is required due to the nature of events.
  • Strong communication skills, with emphasis on working independently and as a team.
  • Exceptional people skills, with professionalism and a sense of humor.

Graphic Design & Marketing Internship
September – December 2018

Intern will report directly to the Entertainment Manager and work closely with the Tap Room & Events Manager to design marketing materials and promote events. As a graphic design intern for Ore Dock Brewing Company, you will curate a design portfolio of live music and event posters, as well as materials to support sales and festivals. While graphic design will be the primary focus of this internship, you will also gain experience marketing events to the greater community through digital channels and other tasks as assigned. This position is meant for an individual with a passion for graphic design, interest in marketing and event promotion, and the ability to work under fast-paced conditions. Previous experience designing for clients preferred but not required. Intern must be extremely organized, have an eye for detail and be able to work on tight deadlines. Intern must be able to work well with a team and show professionalism when working on site, with staff and guests.

Key Responsibilities (but are not limited to):

  • Update design of monthly live music and events poster
  • Design band and special events posters
  • Design marketing materials to support off-site events and festivals
  • Design social media banners and imagery to support products and events
  • Update CVB calendar, DDA calendar, LineUp, MQT Monthly calendar, etc.
  • Monitor media mentions and digital presence; periodically distribute posters
  • Manage special projects with excellent follow-through.
  • Collaborate with community partners on special projects, as assigned
  • Attend events as a brewery representative, as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design (major or minor.)
  • Familiarity with Photoshop required, Illustrator preferred.
  • Maintain 5 scheduled weekly office hours, including weekly assignment meeting with Entertainment Manager to review open projects and deadlines.
  • Some weekend and evening work may be required due to the nature of events.
  • Strong communication skills, with emphasis on working independently and as a team.
  • Exceptional people skills, with professionalism and a sense of humor.
