THE FACES
Wes Pernsteiner, Owner and Co-Founder
Engineer and brewery owner. Living the dream!
Andrea Pernsteiner, Owner and
Co-Founder
I am a lover of craft beer (obviously), the great
outdoors, spending time with friends and family, and a
good stich-and-bitch session (knitting for those of
you wondering). I live in Marquette with my husband
Wes, my dogs Ringo and Elvis, and my crazy cat Smokey.
Nick VanCourt, Owner and Brewmaster A bonafide beer-geek and
foodie, I grew up in Daggett, Michigan showing cattle,
trout fishing and taking hefty 'sips' from my
Grandpa's imported German Lager. This was just the
beginning. Spending 5 years at NMU (we can't all do it
in 4!) while earning a bachelor's degree allowed the
discovery of Bell's beer and started the domino effect
of relentless craft beer investigation.
I then left the UP to live in Madison WI where craft
beer abounds and my home-brewing hobby turned into
career aspirations. After an internship at the Great
Dane Pub and Brewing Company, I cashed in my chips for
the World Brewing Academy, where I earned an
International Diploma in Brewing Technology. This
included study and practice in both Chicago, Illinois
and Munich, Germany. My studies culminated in a
European brewing study tour which took myself and my
classmates to many of Europe's great cities and
breweries. I then returned to Southern Wisconsin to
work as an assistant brewer, first for Milwaukee
Brewing Company and then Tyranena Brewing Company in
Lake Mills. My wife Marina, our small herd of cats and
I are all excited to be back home in the U.P.! Anjila Holland, Associate General
Manager E-mail: anj@oredockbrewingcompany.com I really enjoy spending time with my 2 dogs, whether it is a nice swim in the lake or an intense Mountain bike ride, they are always at my side. I like to disappear for hours and dive into the wilderness of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I am driven to live and work in a community I am proud to represent. My objectives are entwined with dedication to sustainable community design, natural resource conservation, and local resilience. I chose to live in the UP of Michigan, away from large city centers because I feel the absolute need to connect with the a natural environment. I have slowly over the last 5 years dove into the craft beer movement, and now full blown enjoy reading about beer, drinking beer and promoting beer. I feel as though a locally produced craft beer compliments not only my desire for a sustainable lifestyle, but also compliments the community I am so proud to be a part of.

IPA Tester
Corey Stiles, Owner
A novice home brewer who is elated to have the
opportunity to be involved with Ore Dock Brewing
Company.
Wade DePas, Owner I grew up in Menominee,
MI before attending Michigan Tech and then moving to
Minneapolis. A job opportunity at Pioneer
Surgical allowed me to make the move back to the
U.P.
After reading one of the first completed drafts of Wes
and Andrea's business plans in early 2010, I realized
how much thought and energy they had put into the
endeavor. It's great to be able to observe them
continue the development of a new, local
business in Marquette; and to be able to be a part of
it has been both exciting and rewarding.
